- Origin: Sumatra / Indonesia (semi-washed) and Bralis, Sul de minas (dry)
- Price: 30€/Kilo
- Blend: No details given
- Character: "Chocolate syrup meets cherry"
Ground with Rancillio Rocky S, prepared in the Dalla Corte Mini. Brewed at around 95°C. Normal grind, slightly longer pour time. Beans were inconsistent in size and partially broken.
In a single shot Cappuccino one can easily get the advertised "Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte". For an Espresso the coffee is round and chocolatey/earthy in flavor. In general the coffee presented itself well balanced and rather blunt. No harsh spicy or aggressive parts, a great acidity mixed with some earthy flavors. If the cherry tendency was to be replaced by (blue)berry this would have potential for an all time favorite.
Would buy again ?
No. I can definitely recommend this coffee, only shortcoming is that it gets boring after some drinks. Especially in an Espresso. Albeit not the cheapest I feel like the price tag is justified.
